Presentation and sale of the product: This BIM element is part of the GreeNest ecosystem.
GreeNest is Co-funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement No. 101138242 and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). Views and opinions expre
Description: KARZ is an insulation panel based on coffee bean wastes with ecofriendly binders (low content biogenic PUR) with optimized performance based on local production chains. It is based on local coffee bean production chains improving eco-balance. It reduces embodied emissions by using wastes with ecofriendly binders due to lower U-value; at same wall thickness being 20-40% lower than state of the art solutions.
KARZ has been evaluated by now only as thermal insulation panels which are attached to brick wall or integrated into a wooden wall sandwich. The thermal insulation material consists of 50 – 60% coffee ground and polyurethane foam.
General conditions:

The BIM Object in the GreeNest BIM Library is intended for use in eco-efficient projects within the European Union. The BIM file has a parameter structure that complies with the GDO-BIM Standard, meaning that it can be used across a BIM project and meets all the data incorporation and management needs of the asset life cycle phases.

However, the BIM Manager must adapt the file to the requirements of the project in accordance with the private contract or public tender or based on the ISO 19650 standard that applies to the project.

Standardisation facilitates the use of the BIM file, providing common parameter criteria for the different actors working on the project.
