Description: Reversible Window is a window that can be rotated by 180° changing the position of low-E glass. This can block the solar radiation during summer season or allow it in the winter. The integration of Reversible Windows will reduce the heating and cooling demands by ca 5.8 kWh/m2 (or 17%) by changing the position of low-e coating31, while the incorporation of wooden profiles will further reduce the embodied carbon emissions.
The reversible window technology is enabled by innovative hydraulic gaskets and burglar-proof electro-magnetic locking mechanisms fully integrated in the frame. There are 3 innovative components: 1) Active gaskets allowing sealing, ventilation or release with simple hydraulic or pneumatic systems; 2) Structure of the frame with rotating sash across either horizontal or vertical axes; 3) Window locks and control system, with possible integration with building automation, HVAC control systems and centralized security features.
General conditions:

The BIM Object in the GreeNest BIM Library is intended for use in eco-efficient projects within the European Union. The BIM file has a parameter structure that complies with the GDO-BIM Standard, meaning that it can be used across a BIM project and meets all the data incorporation and management needs of the asset life cycle phases.

However, the BIM Manager must adapt the file to the requirements of the project in accordance with the private contract or public tender or based on the ISO 19650 standard that applies to the project.

Standardisation facilitates the use of the BIM file, providing common parameter criteria for the different actors working on the project.
