Description: WDLT-Slab and Earth screed is a prefabricated dowel laminated timber (DLT) slab based on waste-wood and an earth-based screed as substitution for conventional cement-based. Earthen materials are well known for their very low carbon footprint (Figure 5). A recent EuGH judgement20 states that excavated soil material is no longer waste. Recent studied have shown that even stabilized earthen materials have the advantage of recyclability.
Eco-friendly beams made with 100% waste-wood connected by dowels without the use of additional glue. Substitute cement in screed. Earth screed, made from reused soil sourced locally, can substitute cement. Via re-used timber and earthen materials, the building sector gets access to vast amounts of resources, with very low embodied energy and fully recyclable or disposable at the end of their life.

The BIM Object in the GreeNest BIM Library is intended for use in eco-efficient projects within the European Union. The BIM file has a parameter structure that complies with the GDO-BIM Standard, meaning that it can be used across a BIM project and meets all the data incorporation and management needs of the asset life cycle phases.

However, the BIM Manager must adapt the file to the requirements of the project in accordance with the private contract or public tender or based on the ISO 19650 standard that applies to the project.

Standardisation facilitates the use of the BIM file, providing common parameter criteria for the different actors working on the project.
