The main file is available in the Revit® software and in IFC (Industry Foundation Classes). The BIM file has been developed in accordance with the quality criteria of the GDO-BIM Standard.

The Col-legi d'Enginyers Graduats i Enginyers Tècnics Industrials de Barcelona (ENGINYERS BCN), and the BIMETICA consultancy firm, have joined forces to create the first BIM Library in Catalan, Spanish and English, designed for the engineering community, but open to all professionals in the construction sector. This library of BIM content aims to support the digitisation processes of the construction industry, through the development and publication of generic BIM objects as well as BIM objects developed by manufacturers who market their products in Spain and Catalonia.

The authors and developers of the BIM content are ENGINYERS BCN and BIMETICA.

The BIM Library of ENGINYERS BCN and BIMETICA, responds to a unique technical need for those projects in the public or private sector, whose technical requirements are to provide content in Catalan.

At the level of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, the BIM Library of the College of ENGINYERS BCN, is aligned with the objectives of Public Tenders and the BIM Plan for Catalonia, by means of the ACUERDO GOV/81/2023, of 4 April, determining the contracts in which the collaborative and virtual work methodology called Building Information Modelling (BIM) is to be applied and the form and conditions for doing so, and annulling the Government Agreement of 11 December 2018.

At Spain level, this library of BIM products of the Colegio de ENGINYERS BCN, supports the engineering and construction industry, as it is aligned within the framework of the National BIM Plan, by means of the Order PCM/818/2023, of 18 July, publishing the Agreement of the Council of Ministers of 27 June 2023, approving the Plan for the Incorporation of the BIM Methodology in the public procurement of the General State Administration and its public bodies and related or dependent public law entities..

Use of the element in the Autodesk® Revit® software:
The object incorporates the usual data, and additionally has other parameters to facilitate its use, such as:

Maximum Height
The object incorporates a parameter that will make it be placed, in plan, at the minimum height required, thus facilitating the use and placement in the design
Symbology in Plan
Each object has its own symbology, which is suitable for its representation in plan, visible at low and medium level of detail. In addition, the user can hide the symbology using the Visible Annotation parameter. This symbol also has an editable text field, in the Text in Annotation parameter, and the distance of the text to the symbol can also be changed by means of the Distance to Text parameter.

The BIM Object has the parameter structure according to the GDO-BIM Standard, so its usability is transversal to a BIM project, and responds to all the data incorporation and management needs of the asset life cycle phases.
The BIM Manager or BIM Manager, however, must adapt the file to the requirements of the project in accordance with the private contract or public tender or based on the ISO 19650 Standard that applies to the project.

Standardisation helps the use of the BIM file by providing common criteria for parameters by the different actors working on the project.
